Changshengda breaks technical barriers with successful production of 28mm ultra-thick high-strength hot-rolled steel coils.

Recently, Changshengda successfully tested the upper limit of the bankruptcy line design and rolled 28mm ultra thick high-strength hot-rolled steel coils.

The market capacity of hot-rolled high-strength steel coils with a thickness of 25-30mm is large, mainly used for major engineering construction pile pipes. They are processed by spiral welding, and the steel pipe is used in complex environments with high requirements for the quality of the coil material. Its production technology is difficult and must meet high-quality standards such as low impurities in steel coil material, high transverse and longitudinal impact toughness, and no surface defects. The supply capacity of this thickness specification product is controlled by a very small number of steel mills, and the products are rare and expensive, with relatively high profitability.

In order to break through production technology barriers, Changshengda Technology Center, Hot Rolling Plate Factory and other units formed a joint research and development team, concentrating technical strength to repeatedly discuss and verify issues such as production scheduling, size control, rolling and coiling processes, and made comprehensive deployments from technical process parameters and production emergency plans. After a long period of technical research and development, two rolls of high-strength hot-rolled steel coils with a thickness of 28mm were successfully tested and rolled. The temperature, size, plate shape, and performance of the steel coils fully met the process requirements, breaking through the design upper limit of the original rolling thickness of 25.4mm on the production line.

The successful production of 28mm thick hot-rolled coils has demonstrated the guarantee capability of Changshengda's rolling, coiling, and thickness measurement equipment, and improved the production and technical level of Liansteel; Changshengda has the production capacity of extra thick specification materials for construction projects, which effectively expands the broader market and enhances product profitability.
